Life is full of ups and downs. Most people encounter situations they don’t know how to handle. Therapy is a place to make sense of your experiences. You can open up, feel heard, and come to understand your challenges. With more self-awareness you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors - in order to make things better.
Therapy looks different for everyone. It does share common elements. I will get information about your history and background in order to understand the context of your problem. We will explore your current challenge and see if your past is influencing you now. I will help you develop new skills, cope better, and utilize different strategies. You will be able to move forward with a better sense of who you are and what you can achieve.
Therapy can involve receiving a diagnosis or a specialized treatment for a condition, or it can focus on a chosen goal (like changing a behavior). I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches that are grounded in scientific research. I will find the best approach for you, based on your unique temperament and needs.
The therapist/client relationship is unique. The focus is 100% on you. Your family, friends, or partner can’t be your therapist. As a highly trained and experienced professional, I will help you resolve your issues and accomplish your goals. You will feel better and more in charge as we work together to make your life what you want it to be.

A good therapist won’t tell you what to do but will guide you on your path to self-discovery, knowing you are the expert on you. Finding the right therapist can be difficult. It’s hard to reach out, let alone know who to see! No matter why you’re seeking therapy, it will only be good if you feel safe and understood. The fit between a client and therapist is critical. Don’t be afraid to take time to determine if the fit is good. Don’t settle for a therapist who doesn’t seem right for you.
An initial phone conversation can give you a feel for things, but you need to be in the room to truly know. Give yourself a few sessions to see how you feel. Ask yourself “Do I feel safe? Comfortable? Understood?” Check to see if you feel calmer and more optimistic. A good therapist should help you feel better immediately. It shouldn’t take long to know if you’re where you need to be.
Every therapy session is different. The focus (and your experience) will change. Regardless, you should always feel understood and respected for your uniqueness. I am right for you if my interpretations clarify things. My acceptance should help you stop judging yourself. My suggestions should provide new options. My support should help you delve deeper, in order to grow and change.
Our relationship will be different from any other relationship in your life. I will focus on your needs, respect your desires, and support your goals. I will help you dream your dreams and be accountable to them. Together we will REWRITE YOUR STORY, and TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE!

We will start by discussing what’s going on in your life and what’s bothering you. We will explore your reasons for coming to therapy and figure out what you’d like to work on. I will get a history and assess what’s going on now with you. Once done, we will work together to establish your goals.
Your therapy might involve tracking your thoughts, feelings, or behaviors. Or it could include homework or completing a task. Whatever the focus, our work will help you gain insight. You will get a new perspective on your situation, and be able to determine the right direction for you.
My style is warm and empathic, but active and goal-oriented. I will help you feel safe to discuss your feelings, but I will push you out of your comfort zone to grow. I will inspire you to believe in yourself. I will empower you to achieve your goals and dreams.
The law protects the confidentiality of client/therapist communication. Information MAY NOT be disclosed without written permission. I cannot discuss you or the information you disclose with a third party WITHOUT a signed release. There are a few exceptions to this rule. If I suspect child or elder abuse, I am required by law to report it. If you threaten serious harm to another person, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim. If you threaten harm to yourself, I must make every effort to ensure your safety. If you don’t cooperate I can take measures (without your permission) to ensure your safety.

Life Coaching is a process of helping people figure out what they want and how they can achieve it. It begins with an inquiry process: Who are you? What do you want? What does a great life look like to you? Life coaching helps you answer these questions. It is grounded in certain beliefs:
YOU ARE YOUR OWN EXPERT. You know yourself better than anyone else. You have your own answers. You may need help uncovering your wisdom, but it is there.
YOU ARE A WHOLE PERSON. You have different sides or aspects, but you are whole. You’re not broken or in need of repair. You just need help achieving your goals.
YOU ARE CAPABLE OF CREATING YOUR BEST LIFE. You are creative and resourceful and have skills and abilities. You can accomplish the changes needed to attain your dreams.
As a life coach I can help you focus on one area, like your career. Or we can look at your life overall to see how satisfied you are in all areas. Either way, we will begin with a process of inner alignment. You must tune into yourself to uncover what’s right for you. I will help you understand who you are, what you want, and why. Once done, we will implement strategies to achieve your deepest desires.
